Non-Surgical Nose Job

Imperfections Improved in 15 Minutes with Non-Surgical Nose Job

Today, there’s a way to improve your nasal profile—and your confidence—in as little as 15 minutes. The non-surgical nose job (also called “non-surgical rhinoplasty” or “nose filler”) is becoming increasingly popular with men and women alike. The procedure uses injectable fillers to reduce the appearance of a bump and correct irregularities in the nose. In effect, it camouflages the underlying skeletal anatomy.

What It Can And Can’t Do

Do you have a pronounced bump on the bridge of your nose? A droopy tip? Is it all slightly crooked? I’ve found that a non-surgical nose job may be appropriate in patients that have a deep bridge of the nose, a large hump or asymmetry of the nasal dorsum (bridge of the nose). It will improve nasal relationships, but will not make the nose smaller.

How It Works

The process is fast and simple. Fillers are injected after a topical anesthetic is applied to the skin. The fillers have numbing medicine mixed with them, so that as the injection proceeds, the tissue will become more numb. The material can be massaged to refine and fill the defects in the nose to achieve the desired result. Because the filler is malleable, it’s important not to wear glasses for the first 36 hours after the injection.

A Few Things To Keep In Mind

Injectable fillers such as Restylane®, Juvedérm®, Radiesse® and Volbella can be used safely, but are not FDA approved for non-surgical nose jobs; application in the nose is an off-label use. This is something I always make clear during consultation. It’s also important to know that complications can occur and may be serious. Only experienced facial plastic surgeons are properly trained to safely do the injection and have the knowledge to address any adverse effects.

Who Is And Isn’t A Candidate

Non-surgical rhinoplasty is a good way to “test drive” a nose to help decide if surgery is for you. If you don’t like the improvement, it can be reversed with another injection. While it’s a great option, it’s not appropriate for everyone. If your nose is too big, the bump is too large or too thick, non-surgical rhinoplasty is not for you.
